She asked for remark of her IELTS result and…
There is nothing more demotivating than feeling really positive about how your exam went only to find out you did not get the results you hoped for.
In some of those cases, you simply didn’t do as well as you thought. In others, your exam got marked incorrectly. And in the latter case, the best thing to do can be to apply for a remark.
What is the success rate for appealing your IELTS score?
It’s difficult to say what the IELTS appeal success rate is but sometimes the luck is simply on your side.
Do you remember Gabriela? Well in this episode I said to Gabriela that we will have another interview when she gets a Band 7.
Gabriela did her IELTS exams and found out that she did not get the Band 7 she had hoped for. What an absolute disaster… She was really down in the dumps, and so was I.
We had both worked so hard to improve her scores, and felt like the grade she got simply cannot be correct.
In the end Gabriela weighed her options and decided that applying for a remark might be best.
How long does it take for a remark?
The IELTS official said that it could take up to 8 weeks to get her results back. Armed with patience Gabriela agreed.
And only 2 weeks later she receives the news that her previous Band 6.5 in Writing got raised to a Band 7!
