The two charts shows the differences and commonalities regarding VW ownership and use between England and Scotland in the 1990s.
The two pie charts show the differences and commonalities regarding car ownership and use between England and Scotland in the 1990s. In Scotland 65% of drivers purchase cars which is almost double that of England’s at 35%. Leasing cars was twice as popular in England than in Scotland.
Regarding the bar chart, VWs are clearly more prevalent in Scotland than south of the border, England, only in 1997 were ownership figures roughly similar at 150 000 each. The amount of VWs in Scotland was broadly similar throughout the period, roughly between 150 000 and 180 000, whereas in England there was a much larger fluctuation between 30 000 and 150 000.
Overall the two countries have differing driving tendencies except for car sharing. The amount of VWs fluctuates greatly, the main reason being the English were rarely consistent.
